I graduated in 1998 with a BS in       <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cs.mtu.edu\/\">Computer Science<\/a>. I&#8217;m currently       working for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbn.com\/\">BBN<\/a> as a       research scientist.  For those that may be interested, my resume is available upon request.<\/p>\n<p>What does it mean to be a &#8220;Research Scientist&#8221;? Well, it means I write lots of software that does of different things. I write software that controls oil refineries, I write network security software, I write software that controls robots. Some of my software runs on PCs, some on servers and some on embedded devices. Usually the software I write isn&#8217;t going to be in a product for 3 to 5 years, if at all. It&#8217;s fun to be a research scientist because I get lots of new challenges each day and I usually get a new project (or two) every year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jon Schewe is an alumnus of Michigan Technological University.
