Jon Schewe is an alumnus of Michigan Technological University. I graduated in 1998 with a BS in Computer Science. I’m currently working for BBN as a research scientist. For those that may be interested, my resume is available upon request.
What does it mean to be a “Research Scientist”? Well, it means I write lots of software that does of different things. I write software that controls oil refineries, I write network security software, I write software that controls robots. Some of my software runs on PCs, some on servers and some on embedded devices. Usually the software I write isn’t going to be in a product for 3 to 5 years, if at all. It’s fun to be a research scientist because I get lots of new challenges each day and I usually get a new project (or two) every year.
